My son had pure hate and a phobia of math so I finally decided to check out this Kumon to see what all the rage was about. I was honestly very skeptical about the program. The instructor wanted to start my middle school son way below his grade level. I didn't think addition drills would truly help my 8th grader but I took a leap of faith since she seemed so sure of what she was doing. Lo and behold, months later my son is doing awesome!!! I cannot believe how much better he is at math now. He's no longer scared of math! It's no magic pill, it took time and diligence but I'm so excited to say that my son can now do calculations quickly in his head and is feeling great about himself. We still have a long ways to go but he is much more prepared for high school in the fall. After our last parent teacher conference we were feeling like we couldn't continue to let our son fall behind in school so we decided to do something about it. We called and visited pretty much all the local tutoring and math centers but none of them stood out like this Kumon center did. We are so glad we made the decision to send our son here. Not only has he caught up to grade level, but is now setting goals with the instructor, Mrs. Kumon to study two years above his grade level!
