I recommend you call ahead and schedule a time with the owner, that way you don't run into too many people out picking.  We went just last week, and picked thorn-less black berries.  They were sweet and delicious and very well priced.  In the fall they also have Kiwi picking (bet you didn't know you could do that in Sacramento!), pumpkins and raspberries.  There are also the cutest little wooden baskets for the kids to wear around their waste while picking.
