There was a couple sitting with us who the chef knew. The chef literally gave the couple way more good than the rest of us and did not entertain us. He mainly just talked to the couple. I ordered 2 potions of scallops he gave the couple who ordered one portion haft of the scallops and when I said something he continued to act like he didn't know what I was talking about. While shorting everyone else if fried rice at the table he gave the guy from the couple an extra serving. Then when I told the hostess I was not paying a service charge because of what happened she told me that she does not believe her did that because he wouldn't do that. I have the whole show on my fb live. The worst hibachi place I've ever been to. Service sucked, sake was so nasty and tasted wring, rice was hard, food was not seasoned well, and we didn't not get a show at all. You say that you the sushi is old, the tepan is bad and so is the dining menu? well obviously you did go back for more after the first time because hardly anyone can eat on dining and tepan in thee same night with sushi. The meals are always fresh, and i am welcomed into the restruant with great service. So i think the review you posted is not a reliable one. The yakisoba tasted more like some kind of peppered pasta. I could actually smell the bleach left on the miso soup bowl from being washed. I thought I was drinking swimming pool water. I lived in Japan for three years and I know Japanese food. I actually went to Akira with my Japanese friend, visiting here from Osaka. He and I were both shocked by the overpriced, tasteless food. His sukiyaki was unrecognizable, all he could bear to eat was the white rice. The service was just as bad as the food. The waitress was terribly rude and short with us. We couldn't find her after she served our food and had to ask the hostess for our check! I never make complaints like this online but this restaurant was so awful I knew I had to pass the word on.
