> Assistance League of Bakersfield run by all volunteers has the best Thrift Store ever at 20th and Q Street.  Lowest prices, cleanest store and friendly women to help you find just what you want.  All the money from sales in the store goes right back into the community providing new school clothing to about 3000 school children every year through Operation School Bell and providing those teddy bears given out to children by the hospitals and emergency responders through Operation Hugs. They also help adults with clothing for job interviews and new jobs.  Give it a try, you won't shop anywhere else.
