I took my car there. He said he could not give a formal estimate until my appraiser came.  He looked over the damage (hit flying debris on the freeway) which was surface damage to bumper and left quarter panel.  He said \"it's going to be around $2,600\". So, a friend at a shop that was not \"Audi certified\" gave me a similar quote (via pics by phone) and I went ahead with bhautobody (Beverly Hills Auto Body).  So, I just got a call and he said he \"made a mistake\" and they need to blend in the doors and the hood to match paints.  How do you make a mistake like that when blending adjacent parts is standard practice - especially for new high end cars? So now the cost is around $4,000 vs the $2,600 quote.  I asked the fellow how long he had been doing this: 14 years.  So, here we have the reason why body shops have the worst reputation of almost any industry.
