> They are kind, courteous, professional control freaks. They pressured me to get a biopsy I didn't need at all. They scared me into thinking I might actually have cancer when I knew I didn't. They offered me a slightly invasive less invasive procedure at first and then told me I'd misunderstood and the doctor had said from the beginning that it was going to be a stereotactic core needle biopsy. This involves a long, large bore needle with a wickedly sharp point that they jam into your breast using a trigger. They try to make this event sound as if it's easy and painless as brushing your teeth. It isn't. I went nearly insane at the thought of it. About a week before the procedure I began to shake and sweat, scream and cry and pound my fists on things at very of this gruesome procedure. I finally had to beg my primary doctor for tranquillizers to get up the courage to even show up and get it done at all. One of the techs took pity on me and put lidocaine cream on my breast so I didn't feel the numbing shot at all, but when the large bore needle was inserted I felt significant, uncomfortable pressure and a moderate, unpleasant  ache. There were sharp tingles of pain, too, but those only lasted a few seconds and probably happened when the samples were taken. The results came back in two days and showed that the "suspicious" micro-calcifications  were benign. All the terror, pain and unpleasantness was, essentially, unnecessary. I feel shattered even tho' the news was good.
