I identified myself and gave my kid name, they handled me a black kid( wrong kid) without any ID. I said isnt my daughter. Staff asked me to wait, a couple minutes later she opened the security door again and let me go in, I greeted my daughter , then the Principal Carmen Milner was passing by , saw me and said: You cant be here, let me see your ID ( totally understandable) I got out of my wallet and was handling to her, she didnt even looked at it and said : Wait me outside and I will be right there with you.I went outside and 15 minutes later she showed up and tol me that I need to ask dad (my ex husband) to call school so I could see my daughter. I tried to explain the situation , I told it wasnt right because I am in the paperwork that autorizes me pick my daughter up. One time she even called me to pick my daughter up because she was crying. She told me to come another day with a different atittude, she refused to get my ID card and said : IM DONE WITH YOU and closed the door in my face.I called Claremont police department at 11:55, they arrived at school 12:07 pm and went inside the school with my ID card, then they got out with my kid. I could spend only 30 minutes with her because my train would depart 1:30 PM.( I could have spent 2 hours with my child without any drama but I was able to only be with my kid for 30 min).This was totally unecessary,frustrating,heartbreaking. I am taking my child out of this place and looking for my rights. Forgot to mention Iam Brazilian, dark skin and my daughter white, blond,blue eyes just like her father. He went through all of the different age classrooms from the baby room to Kindergarten—and even the after school program during his school vacations. The teachers in each and every classroom have been excellent. They are patient and devote much time to each and every child. The teachers take the time to really get to know the kids. They are friendly and willing to answer parents’ questions and concerns. The school is very clean. The toys are clean. The lunches, which are included as part of the tuition, are nutritious and plentiful. Kiddie Academy is more than a daycare—it is a school filled with understanding, nurturing teachers who care about kids. The best testament I could give would be my son’s actions. We dropped him off at 7:30 every morning for many years. When I showed up to pick him up at 5 oclock, he did not want to go home yet. He was having too much fun!
