Although the chinese restaurant is located in Coachella, you can easily have chinese eat-in or chinese take-out from La Quinta, Indio, Palm Desert and Indian Wells.  I would venture to say it would be worth a drive for good chinese food anywhere in the Palm Springs area.The food was truly authentic and the menu was quite massive.  I like orange chicken but they have some not too often seen dishes like fried tofu skin or even chow fun.  The basics like chow mein, lo mein and moo goo gai pan are all there.  The food is prepared fresh to order and uses the finest chinese ingredients.The service is plain, nice and simple and the location of the restaurant is in Jackson Square shopping center, which is on the corner of Jackson and Avenue 48.  You literally cross the street and you are in Indio... cross again and you are in Coachella.The owners of the restaurant are not new to the desert.  They have served the best Chinese food in the past with chinese restaurants in Indio, chinese restaurants in La Quinta.  They sold these restaurants but could not stay in retirement.  The chinese restaurant in Indio was Pak Inn and Pak Inn 2 and the chinese restaurant in La Quinta was the Shangri-La Asian cuisine.  The reputations of the owners and all their restaurants have been to serve great food at very reasonable prices with lots of choices in chinese food variety.  Daily specials start at $4.95 and entrees average $8.00 but there is not a dish that will cost more than $10.00.","rating":5,"date_published":"2009-30-12"}]}
