> I want to purchase - well - probably a semi- automatic pistol - maybe 9mm - for personal protection.  I am familiar with shotguns, as a kid duck hunting.  Since then, I have only possessed a Taurus 38 caliber, which was purchased for my wife and I for our camper In 1987, but since given to the Berkeley Police Department for destruction.  At the age of 80 years, and still in good mental and - reasonably good physical health, I want to have a gun at home (not for carrying) to protect myself. shotgunswell , I have no experience with this business, but I wish to purchase a semi-automatice
