> This isn't one of your fancier B&B's - no whirlpool tubs or featherbeds - but it's situated in a charming Victorian home filled with period pieces, and is located in one of California's best-kept getaway secrets - the tiny town of Freestone. Located a short walk from the superb organic bakery, Wildflour, at the junction of the Bohemian and Bodega highways, this is the ideal spot to escape the urban hustle and have a low-key, totally relaxing weekend. It's also a short walk to Osmosis, a serene day spa featuring hot cedar "baths" that will melt away all your cares. The Green Apple's host, Rosemary, is a well-traveled former schoolteacher who is a delight to converse with over one of her homemade and filling breakfasts.
