The employees are smiling and some of the residents are sitting in the lobby listening to music from their era. When I was there one of the residents was telling jokes and everyone was in stitches.Then the best surprise. There are no extra points or levels for extra care, meaning the basic rate is inclusive of all services except for incontinence care! I asked how the price for that is determined. The Administrator said we get together with the resident and the family and discuss what is fair for the amount of care required. So different from all the other assisted living places!Now for the very BEST part, the room rate is hundreds of dollars less than all of the ones in town AND no extra fees for levels or points AND NO deposits! The staff is professional and I would trust them 100% with my grandparents or my parents. Every time I visit the facility, I pass by a beautiful fountain and maybe one of the resident cats napping outside. The grounds are well taken care of too. I am always greeted by the staff with a warm smile and I can pour myself a hot cup of tea or some ice water in the lobby area. If you enjoy little puppies, Miss Heidi will usually greet you with a wagging tail and a kiss if you choose. The Facility Administrator is a wonderful, kind and very professional woman who keeps a tidy ship! There is great attention to the needs of the residents and if she trusts the staff with her father and father in-law, I can trust them as well. Now if you like home cooking, they have wonderful chefs in the kitchen who prepare very tasty meals. If you want to sample a meal, just show up at one of their Christmas Parties and you will be warmly invited to partake with everyone. The facility is a very clean, fresh place for your family member to relax or if they want to go play cards or Bingo or another type of recreation, they provide that as well. Melissa is in charge of making sure there are interesting things for the resident's to do and she is very dedicated to her work and the residents. There are local musicians who come to entertain the residents and a beautiful old piano that is to be enjoyed during the Holiday's. The facility is full of comfortable sofa's and chairs for the resident's and visitor's to rest and relax while they visit with each other. I enjoy seeing them taking walks outside in the garden and soaking up the sunshine. Sierra View Manor is like Home Away from Home and I always leave there with a smile. It is a place that I often tell others of who have elderly parents or grandparents because I completely trust their care. Not an over-the-top atmosphere but clean, bright, and welcoming. A friendly smiling face greets you either from someone walking by or in the reception area along with a cute tail wagging puppy. The bird's are chirping and the cat may come to say hello dependent upon whose lap she is on at the time. The smell of food and something sweet happened to be wafting to my senses at the time I visited. I was amazed at how happy the staff were and all of the residents I saw were very nicely dressed and clean. Most of them were on their way to enjoy a musical group that comes often to entertain. I was told that the ice cream social would be held soon after. Several of the ladies talking to one another in the common area were discussing what snacks they might be having at the evening social hour.I was surprised to find that the cost for a private room was about $700 a month lower or more than the cost at other facilities in the area of the same type and there are no extra charges for points or levels of care. I had been referred to Sierra View Manor by a friend whose mother used to live at Sierra View.
