> I can understand being put off by this place.  Call ahead and make a reservation if you are coming for dinner.  If it is nice out, ask for a table outside, otherwise all the shiny happy drinkers will surly drown you out.  What I love about this place is the food and the service.  I can order a burger or a $38 filet and will be treated with equal kindness.  And both dishes rock.  The burger comes with house-pickled onions (yum) and a plate full of fries.   The specials  are always just that.  The one down side has been the salads, but recently they've added a tasty butter lettuce salad.  Other favorites include the pea leaves, the melon and procciutto, any of their risottos.  There cocktails are fun and inventive.  The ice cream sandwich for dessert, when available, is perfect.  If you want some place a little slower in pace and quieter for your 91 year old grandmother, cross the street to their sister restaurant, Willow Wood Cafe as they serve similar, well crafted food.
