I recommend them highly *Invalid Date via Direct* --- **hutlhandyman** - 5/5 > I took my F150 in to see if it needed catalytic converters (the originals have 200k+ miles on them) because I suspected the truck would fail its bi-ennial "test-only" smog check. Steve at Bro Muffler suggested I get it tested first and then perhaps he could determine what I should do. I followed his advice and - as I suspected - the truck failed. At this point, Steve told me there were two possible problems, the EGR system or the catalytic converters. The next day they tested my EGR system and found a problem with the EGR vacuumn solenoid. It turned out to be a much less costly repair than replacing the CATS. Although they could have told me the CATS needed to be replaced to pass the test (which would have put more money in their pockets), they suggested I go back for a retest and see what happened. The truck passed the test. I admire mechanics like Steve who will pass up an opportunity to make money to hold onto his integrity. I think I'll still replace the CATS when I have the money...and now I know I wouldn't even consider giving my business to anyone else. Their good at what they do, and, more importantly, their honest. I showed up and within an hour I had a new muffler and turn down installed. Friendly people and quick service. She hated it and was crying hysterically. Anyways she went to work, I called Bro Muffler at 3:25pm and it was fixed by 4:12pm. Inexpensive, FAST FAST FAST, very friendly best experience with a mechanic I have ever had. Now my Girlfriend will get in the car after work and all of a sudden she will be happy again. I will suggest this place to any of my friends and family.
