The doctor truly cares about animals. I have been taking my pets here for years. After our family pet died and we got 2 German Shepherds. One night one of our GS puppies chewed on a stick and got it caught in her teeth. We called right when they were closing. Even though we live 45 mins away from them, they stayed open for us and didn't even charge us a after hours fee. They are amazing!!! Most recently my fathers dog had gotten ill. We thought it was cancer. I took her in and was prepared for a big bill with all kinds of testing needing to be done. Nope, the Doctor knew what was wrong and ran the test to confirm it. He could have easily padded the bill with all kinds of test and we would have paid for it. But he did not. Hes very honest and gives you a break down of what you are paying for. Ive never left there thinking I just got ripped of or over paid. After a series of unfortunate events with our 5 year old rotti. We went to Dr. Akal's office for a second opinion. Even though we ended up having to put our baby girl down Dr.Akal and his staff showed more compassion in the hour and a half we spent in his office than our veterinarian had ever shown. We switched and I am happy we did. The newest rotti addition to our family was just treated there 9 months later and not only did our baby girl get personal attention. But they also remembered myself my family and our doggy that we lost almost a year ago. *2/3/2014 via Direct* --- **erik\.altamirano2** - 5/5 > My dog was attacked by a pit and I took him to AKAL were there hours are from 8:00a.m.-6:00 p.m. I called at 6:10 and all they said was " Bring him in , bring him in will wait for you". The price were shockingly affordable and they saved my dog. I have returned there again and again, mostly for shots, but every time they see him they ask how he is doing.
