> I've owned a 78 VW van, an 85 Saab, and a 90 VW vanagon and taken them all to this place after trying some others. Never switched since. The owner, Detlev, is just the best -- concientous, honest, helpful, just a guy you trust. And you are trusting such a mechanic with your and your loved ones' lives. I echo reviewer # 1.

> I have owned three VW vans and two Beetles over the past 30 years and Detlev, a German trained mechanic, is the most competent, trustworthy and conscientious auto mechanic I ever encountered. Whether installing an Audi I 5 Cyn. Engine in my 1990 Vanagon or doing routine maintenance on all VW?s as well as other foreign vehicles, both high end and economy models, Detlev has earned a reputation for being the man to go to in the East Bay. Also, he is known for his skill in European old-timer restoration and all varieties of custom work. Although he specializes in VW and Audi, his shop is equipped to provide complete service on European vehicles such as Mercedes, BMW and Volvo. His Livermore shop, located just off Highway 580, will provide preventive care and analysis with state of the art diagnostic equipment which saves time and money.
