> DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE Unreliable dishonest work to Westcoast Tire and Transmission in Oceanside! When our vehicle was brought into their for repair of freeze plugs they did as little work as possible. Even gave our vehicle back to us missing the transmission mount to it. Within 30 days our vehicle was leaking again. We took our vehicle to another shop & upon their review only 2 freeze plugs were replaced out of 4. It looked as if Westcoast attempted to try to change the other 2 but did not! We were told by the master mechanic Gary at Westcoast that all were to be replaced & it would not make sense to only change 2 as this could cause potential problems in the future. Us not knowing that there were more than 2 freeze plugs. We approached them as to WHY were only 2 freeze plugs were changed. Their response....."Ma'm, we were contracted to do only 2. We are a transmission shop and this is all we do. Your truck already has 200,000 miles and we will not agree to a mistake or a refund...sorry....Ma'm....then she hangs up! Great customer service, huh? We plan to make a formal complaint with the board and small claims court. We have a letter, pictures and explanation of why our cylinder heads blew on our truck that appartently had no meaning to Westcoast Transmission because its old. If you love your vehicle and want reliable, friendly, honest work DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO WESTCOAST TIRE & TRANSMISSION IN OCEANSIDE AT 1434 SOUTH COAST HWY! The work, experience, admitting their wrong and customer service is one of a dishonest person. We hoped they would have done the right thing and gave them a chance but, they didnt. We are not mean people...we just want to share our dishonest experience. We should at least got a refund back. They are not nice and dishonest mechanics that do not care.
