> We had this management company for our association about 13 years ago. Just today I was talking to someone about associations at my doctors office and she was saying her friend was on the board of her hoa too and was having a terrible time with the management company. The lady at the doctors office said it was Sue Cook, I immediately said CMC mgmt. company, and she said, "yes". The worst. At our association some board members were allowed to be delinquent without going to collection and one was using association money to fix up her unit. Just try to get rid of them and watch their tactics. They would not even write up our board minutes in the interim until we got them out and the new company in, 30 day notice in the contract. Had to fight them at the end too over money they said they had coming to them but didn't. Apparently from my conversation today they are still doing the same kinds of things they did 13 years ago. Anyone who is currently using this company should get rid of them pronto. They will make it difficult, but it will be worth it and it can be done. Amazing they are still in business. Want to get rid of them? Two board members can call a special meeting, probably executive session. Post it for the membership 4 days in advance. Research management companies to see who in your area is good and invite them to the meeting. CMC does not need to be informed of the meeting. Hire a new company and give CMC the required notice. The new company can help you through the rough patches because if you think CMC was bad before you fired them, they are even worse once they are let go and you have to wait out your 30 days. A call to the Attorney General might help. required to give one star, only reason they got it.
