I've been to many urgent care's, they charge a flat fee,usually $80.00 to see a doctor, and thats it, no other charges . At las islas, I paid $75.00 to see a doctor for chest congestion, figuring that would be it for the doctor visit, She listened to my chest,and my symptoms,as I told her I had no insurance and forced myself to come in. They gave me a short inhaler trreatment, and said there was nothing else they could do being a virus, no  medication could help. Got a prescriptiion for an inhaler and cough medicine, which she assured me wouldn't be over$20.00 at wallmart. (it was $55.00) She gave me a number for help with med. bills for those with no insurance. There was no one there, superbowl sunday.I just got a bill for $504.00 $163 for the room:since when do you pay for an examination room? $319 for new patient exam, what exam, blood pressure, weight; they do that everywhere.22 for the inhaler treatment, aside from the &5 I already paid. I'm furious, urgent care is not emergency, a flat fee for a simple exam. this is a family clinic where most everyone is on welfare or medicade, medical. What a rip off, it';s true millions of americans with no insurancewill die every year because they can't afford these exorbitant fees. We are behind all other major countries who have total health care; we are 37th in health care.","rating":1,"date_published":"2010-11-03"}]}
