> Ken Neill Kennels is a great place who really cares for your dog! You can tell that the people they hire are really animal people.  My Portuguese Water Dog puppy is a handful (even at home), you really have to love him to handle him, not only is he a PWD, he is also deaf.  So not only he is very active and stubborn, he can be extremely LOUD when he doesn't get his way.  He is always excited to see everyone there.  He wags his tail the minute we walk in the door.  I read the poor review about the persons dog having diarrhea, sometimes when dogs are in new situations or surroundings and then go home display this; also I understand going by an owners request but if they got extra treats it was probably the staff trying to make the dogs happy not sick. I have never seen or experienced any staff doing anything but caring for my boy.  Dominic is like my child and if he ever gave any indication that he was not treated well I would never write anything good about KNK, or ever take him back, but that is not the case.  KNK is great!

> I know that KNK gets alot of great reviews so I was surprised to see myself having such a bad experience with them, particularly the owner. Recently, my 2 huskies stayed there and were given more than the specified treat allotment that I had requested. They came home with diaharrea and wouldn't touch their food. When I called over there, the woman said to me "I just threw their treats in their dog food bin so they might've gotten more than intended." I said "well that explains it! That's really not good at all." Pretty irresponsible....The woman, instead of offering a sincere apology and remedying the situation, suggested I take my dogs to another kennel because "obviously I was upset." I was apalled! I asked to speak to the manager immediately and as she laughed she said "I'm the owner!" I've never been so mistreated for such a miniscule problem. This could have been handled so much better, but she insisted on sending me away instead of fixing the situation. Under her ownership, I will never take my dogs there again! There are other kennels in the AV who are much nicer.
