So unless you enjoy crowds, I recommend going during the work week instead. Food is good and the drinks are better, plus the wandering mariachi band is fun - but they are a weekend attraction only. Happy hour is good too. Wish they would do away with the photo and flower vendors - the only reason I gave four stars versus five. Mexican food is my comfort food and Mijares fits the bill! I really like the food and the ambience of this place. My first time, I ordered a combination plate with chile relleno, chicken taco and cheese enchilada. It was all super-fresh and very tasty. I particularly loved the chicken taco. It was packed with well-seasoned meat and it wasn't greasy at all. The drink menu is also pretty good in that they have a lot of wine options which is perfect for me since I don't drink hard alcohol.
