My new tax preparer found Dianna's mistake on the previous year's tax returns. Dianna contacted the IRS to admit her mistake and request they not charge me a year's worth of interest and penalties - the IRS refused and required payment. Since the interest and penalties were incurred due to Dianna's error, I asked her to pay them - she REFUSED citing that ULTIMATELY, I'M AT FAULT FOR NOT CHECKING HER WORK PRIOR TO FILING THE TAX RETURNS - can you believe that?!?
