When my gelding acted colicy one evening, they contacted me immediately, hung out with us, even let me use a stall for the night. They are quick to address any concerns we horse owners have. I love that I can saddle up and ride away from the ranch, reaching the Hornbeck trailhead without having to trailer, and once there, the trails are extensive and we see few hikers or bikers. Boarders at the ranch often ride with each other, and are always courteous, respectful of property. All the horses look great, facilities are maintained and constantly being upgraded. I would recommend Oak Hill Ranch to anyone, so come on out and see for yourself! My experience is that my horses have had excellent care, with a great deal of attention paid to details. I have always cared for my own horses on my own ranch until early last year and I have been so impressed by the level of care that has been given to both of my horses, one of whom has some lameness issues. This ranch is adjacent to the trailhead for Hornbeck, the FB trail, the ditch trails, and more. I could ride right off the ranch for three days straight and never see the same trail again. They're shady, Wide, and very few people use them. I am blessed every day to have my horses with Becky and Micah at Oak Hill Ranch!! They are a class act! 5❤️ from me and my horses!!! As soon as I was ready for my next boy, I went right back to Oak Hill. Rates are reasonable and horses are well fed. Facilities are great and kept in good repair. Lighted arena, round pen, tack room, washing area. Miles of trails right out the driveway. I have a trailer that sits most of the time, as there is no need to go somewhere else to ride. My horse has been very well cared for and has never had an issue of being under fed in fact maybe she is a little too round. She is going to be 19 next month and is completely healthy. In fact no one can believe she is that old. I have been called when her eye was tearing up just to make me aware (she has allergies). I don't get to visit daily but I feel confident that my horse is being looked after well even if I can't be there. As for the background check. I never had to do one but then again I don't have anything to hide so it really wouldn't bother me. I sometimes have to go at night after dark and I definitely feel safe. The lighted arena is definitely a perk if it's too late to ride on the trails. They seem to be in line for what I have paid elsewhere. You also don't have to trailer to the trails since you can ride miles of trails right from the stable.
