I tried 2 homes before finding Vista Pacifica Convalescent. The other homes had no understanding of the behavior and risks associated with Alzheimer's. Vista Pacifica has wonderful staff and they are all very knowledgeable, caring, and understanding. My mother can be very difficult.  The primary physician is very good and  has a good understanding of the patients medical needs. My only complaint is with the psychiatrist who cares for the patients. He will not listen to family requests. They deal with some of the most difficult mentally ill patients but still provide such a high level of care. The nurses there are pleasant and really care for their patients. Vista pacifica also has some wonderful counselors who work with the patients with such empathy, patience and genuine care. The staff is friendly caring and loving to to residents. The DON and admissions corrdinator are more than helpful and answer all you questions. The administrator is very knowledgeable and alleviates all your fears or any misconceptions of nursing homes.
