Lush, red/gold motif, with Prohibition documents (artifact or replica?) and jeweled chandeliers everywhere. The restaurant is very well hidden and physically overshadowed by the mega Financial District Hilton hotel/restaurant/spa next door, but it's truly the epitome of an American steakhouse. The menu even gives you the cow anatomy! The menu also hosts a variety of other goodies, such as escargots, rack of lamb and lobster. Service is friendly, and we had a birthday boy in our party, and they honored that and brought us a nice dessert. Alfred's is moderately expensive, but the three course $30 City Dinner is a good way to go to. Great place.","rating":5,"date_published":"2008-31-01"}]}
