After using his alarm company, American Alarm, for 20+ years, when the system they installed for me (and I have been paying $25/mo. to monitor for all these years) malfunctioned, he left me high and dry. The system dialed their central station every minute for months and incurred $$$$$ of dollars on my long distance bill and no one could figure out what it was. When it was discovered it was there alarm system and the charges were my responsibility, American Alarm said I owned the equipment so I was responsible for the charges. How bad is that?I have sinced changed to another company. They will charge you more than market rates FOR basic service.Do Not buy any services from this company - NOT RECOMMENDED *6/3/2013 via Direct* --- **mrhannigan** - 1/5 > This company is run by thieves. they appear to be a good upstanding business on the outside but I assure you THEY ARE THIEVES! they will sue you and tell lies to win their case, a big part of their business is taking their own customers to court. i used them for three years,I was told my contract was only two, after three years i tried to cancel but it turns out they had lied to me and it was a 5 year contract. they took me to court for the extra two years that I refused to pay, the actual alarm system I used was not supplied by them, it was owned by me and they only activated it. in court they lied and told the judge it was theirs and that I never paid for it. LIE! i asked the judge to have them produce a invoice for this system. turns out they have this judge in their pocket and he ignored my request just ruled in their favor. I had to pay close to $2000.00 for equipment that they did not supply. THEY ARE THIEVES. turns out they work with this judge all the time. he does not care if your a victim or not.
