> We took a check for $500, drawn on a local account, from a local business, written to a local resident, and these guys refused to cash it for no specific reason. We are both in our early 40s, well dressed, and obviously not trying to pull anything. Without justification, they told us they would not cash the check, even though they had previously (within the week) cashed a personal check for my wife, drawn on an out of town bank written by an out of town party.Backstory: My wife and I were sick with the flu, trying to cash a paycheck from a local business, while we were both running fevers and needed the money for firewood.If I were you, stay away from this place. Its in a bad part of Pacific Avenue, they are obviously used to dealing with freaks and rug dealers, and when faced with the clearest of all situations, they refused to do their job. These people are epitomes of the sleezy reputations that check cashing places apparently deserve.
