> They refinished a teak patio table/chairs and bench.  I requested that they not "Power Wash" the wood as everything I read about how to restore teak said that it should NOT be done as it raises the grain (hence, no smooth finish).  They said they'd have to take to their shop since I wanted the "sanding", etc.  I was told it would NOT be powerwashed.  Returned it promptly, but they had NOT sanded down to a smooth finish...they must have power washed as the wood  was rougher and raised grain.  I had refinished this set once before myself by sanding and applying a Smith & Hawken teak finish product and it turned out great, so I know it can be done. This set was in great condition, by the way, with the exception of needing some refinishing.  The stain/finish they applied was OK looking at first....until it rained.  The stain they had applied washed off and left much of the wood  without stain and with stained streaks down the wood after only 1 rain !   On top of that, when they brought it back and I paid them, they told me it would be an extra $50.00 because they had to transport to/from their shop.   They did not advise me of this before they took it!  There is a reason they are CHEAPER than some other teak restoration companies.
