After taking the assessment test for both Math and English placement, I find the remaining process of becoming a student at the college quite tedious. Between the various amount of forms and meetings (orientation, counselor's office, financial aid office, Bursar's office to purchase parking decals & student ID, the computer lab to register onto the student site WebAdvisor and student store for class materials/ books/ supplies), one can feel lost and become discouraged. Perhaps a campus *guide would help the new student(s) feel more at ease. I think better organization (and MORE financial aid attendants) would assist in students desire to further their education at Victor Valley College. However, I am impressed that Victor Valley College offers online classes and find this a good way for the working/ busy student to continue structured learning. *Suggestion: Perhaps a counseling credit could be given to returning students that volunteer to “guide” 5 students minimum per semester (must be done within the first 2 weeks of start of semester.","rating":4,"date_published":"2010-19-11"}]}
